However, before going into the details of the review, let's briefly talk about lucid dreaming in general and lucid dreaming masks in particular.

A lucid dreaming mask is a device using light cues to induce lucid dreams during REM sleep, providing dreamers with a way to master dream recall and control.
And now, let's look at both Remee and Mindfold Relaxation Sleep Mask, starting with the former.

A sleep mask is a device blocking out the light and helping you with your sleep, in terms of both falling asleep and the quality of your sleep.

A sleeping mask is generally considered a skin care product providing moisture and nutrients to the skin while asleep.
And now let's look at the Mindfold Relaxation mask!
Mindfold Relaxation Sleep Mask Review
The Mindfold Relaxation sleep mask is a sleep mask promising to help you with relaxation, focus and meditation.
The Mindfold mask was designed by artist Alex Grey in 1978 to facilitate the journey within and to allow you to meditate, sleep or relax in total darkness.
1. Design and Comfort
A number of customers find the Mindfold Relaxation Sleep Mask bulky, mostly because of its size. The writer at sleepopolis.com points out:
The MINDFOLD occupies a lot of real estate. It covered almost all of my forehead, went past my cheekbones, and jutted out a bit beyond the sides of my face.
The same writer points out that she finds it difficult to use the mask while sleeping on her side.
Another point made about the Mindfold Relaxation mask is about the sharp plastic edges, which make it uncomfortable to sleep with.
2. Customization
Being a simple sleeping mask, there isn't much you can customize other than the strap, which is adjustable from both ways.
3. Technology
The Mindfold Relaxation mask promises 'total darkness with your eyes open'.
This is supposed to help you meditate and focus your inner self with your eyes open and in complete darkness.
It's also said to ease travel stress, aid in fighting headaches and allow blind and visually challenged persons to train together.
4. User-Friendly Experience
Customers are not satisfied with the material of the product. They mention that it is thin plastic over black foam with an adjustable velcro band. They also say that the faceplate material is hard plastic with sharp edges that protrude over the foam. Some customers also mention that the materials are synthetic, and the foam rubber is low quality.
5. Cost and Value
The Mindfold Relaxation mask is currently on sale on Amazon for $12,99.
The Verdict
First of all, it's worth mentioning once again that I am not reviewing a lucid dreaming mask but rather a sleeping one.
With that in mind, the Mindfold mask seems lacking in all areas mentioned above, including design and comfort, customization, technology and user-friendly experience.
Being only a sleep mask, the Mindfold Relaxation mask is quite cheap.
In the end, it really comes down to what your are looking for. If you are in the market for a lucid dreaming mask, then this is not the mask for you.
If instead you are looking for only a mask to help you with your sleep and block out the light, then the Mindfold Relaxation mask should work for you.
